We’re the experts in renewable heating.
So, whether you want to buy wood pellets by the ton, or you’re looking for a company to install a biomass renewable heating system in your home or business, you’re in safe hands with The Wood Pellet Delivery Company.
In our last blog, we looked answered a few of the most common questions surrounding biomass heating systems. In this, part two of our handy guide to green energy systems, we look at exactly how these safe, economical heating appliances operate.
How does a Biomass Boiler Work?
Installation
Here’s a simple explanation of the main components of the renewable energy heating system we’ll install in your home or business.
Pellet Store: The pellet store is a secure, dry store into which your biomass fuel (like our premium quality antirust wood pellets) are delivered and held before being burned.
Stove/Boiler: Wood pellets are fed from the store to the stove/boiler where they are burned. This creates the energy that heats your hot water and your premises.
Buffer tank: Also known as a thermal store, buffer tanks are where the heated hot water is held. This is what makes the heating system so efficient, as the stove/boiler only has to work to maintain the heat in the system, rather than starting from cold every time.

Do I need to feed the pellets into the boiler myself?
No. The pellets are fed automatically from your pellet store directly into the boiler. No handling or shovelling required.
Efficient, cost-saving energy
Using biomass to heat your property reduces your fuel costs. It’s estimated that the average saving from using renewable energy in your home is between 20% and 40% compared to your current fossil fuel usage. It also reduces your CO2 emissions, helping the environment.
