Buy a biomass boiler, and you won’t emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere when you heat your home or office. That’s because these boilers, which use biomass pellets, are what the government class as ‘CO2 neutral’. This means their ‘green’ rating is as high as 90 per cent. That compares much more favourably to the green rating of an open fire (a mere five per cent). And, with climate change consistently in the news these days, that’s a point worth considering.
