The good news is that you could be doing even more. That’s because not all pellets are made in the same way. The general principle is always the same. Organic matter is collected and processed before being compacted into small pellets to be used in special pellet burners. But within this production process there is big scope for variation
Signs of Quality
Ideally pellets should have a hard exterior to prevent them breaking up, with a soft interior that burns clean and long. However, some pellets have an exterior that is not quite as protected. That means that it can break down and lead to the softer inner parts spilling out. This dust does not burn in the same way as the complete pellet. It can also clog up your burner and lead to maintenance issues.

This keeps the outer shell hard and secure, meaning you get less dust per average order. In fact, that can be up to ten times less dust or as much as 50kg.
